It's time for another fun evening of Kolsch Service on our patio, weather permitting. Kolsch is a regional specialty beer from the city of Cologne, Germany. One of the rituals of Kolsch is that it is served in a rather unique fashion.
In Cologne, Kölsch is traditionally served in a tall, thin, glass called a Stange. Your server carries twelve Stanges on a circular tray. Instead of waiting to order a refill, your server immediately replaces an empty Stange with a full one, marking a tick on your coaster under the Stange. When you do admit defeat and do not want another refill, place your coaster on top of your empty Stange. You then pay for the number of beers marked on the coaster.
Join us on the patio Thursday, August 22 as we provide you with our unique Kolsch service. We have live music scheduled from 7pm to 10pm from Steph Cabell. Her repertoire ranges from Bill Withers to Chris Stapleton and literally anything in between; you may catch some surprises, like acoustic renditions of songs by Pat Benatar or Linkin Park. Her live experience is organic and off-the-cuff - whatever your musical palette, she’s sure to hit on something you have a taste for. The kitchen will be serving up some German fare like Bratwurst, Currywurst and of course Bavarian style pretzels and beer cheese.
