Brett Stafford Smith’s passion for music began at 14 when he learned to play drums at his local church. He picked up songwriting at 16 when he discovered an old guitar in his step-father’s closet. Brett’s hard work and passion for music paid off when he earned a musical scholarship to play saxophone and guitar in the jazz band at Auburn University. Brett credits his father for introducing him to country music, and still fondly remembers driving home from school every day with the windows rolled down, blasting Tracy Lawrence and Travis Tritt.
Brett moved to Nashville 3 years ago from Dothan, Alabama to pursue his dreams in the music industry. He has written with the likes of Daniel Allen of The Vegabonds, Dusting Herring, Zach Lambert, Jarrett Hartness, John Miller, Jordan Fletcher, and Ryan Nelson. His EP, “Big,” is available on iTunes and Spotify, and can also be found on his Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages.
