Rock N' Roll Matinee w/ The Canvas People (ATX) Juco
Sunday October 13th @ Ghost Train Brewing Co.
Biography of The Canvas People: Hailing from Austin, Texas, The Canvas People cultivate a blend of melodic indie and harmony driven alt-rock. Since their formation in 2014, the group has evolved into an eclectic rock group featuring pulsating guitars, subtle synthesizers, and booming three-part harmonies.
New album "Garden Party" is the group’s most ambitious, and self-aware effort to date; it capitalizes on the old while offering plenty of new. With their new full length, the group invites listeners to take a look at themselves, take a look at the world, and find a reason to celebrate.
At times "Garden Party" feels deeply personal and relationship driven, and at others drunk, despondent, and taking aim at the world around us. At the root of most of Garden Party’s tracks is the intuitive feeling that something is amiss, but if we hold on tight enough we’ll probably be okay. Taylor explains, “You invest in a garden. You plant the seed, and you carefully tend to the fruit. You don’t know what, if anything, is going to come of all of it. But none of it is a waste because it’s all part of the same process. This record is about celebrating the process, both the gorgeous fruits and the inevitable death and decay.”
Local Brewery that brews in-house with a sophisticated yet edgy vibe.
