Haven’t heard of The Mad Priest yet? A joint venture by Michael Rice (of Mad Priest Coffee Roasters) and Matt Sears (of Haskel Sears Design), The Mad Priest is an all-day cafe & bar on Cherry Street in downtown Chattanooga with a gorgeous "global-vintage" space inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo. Our focus is first and foremost on providing the best product, whether that’s an espresso drink, cocktail, beer, wine, or food. We're open M-Th / 7am-10pm, F / 7am-midnight, and Sa / 10am-midnight, with Mad Happy Hour deals M-F / 4-7pm and a special brunch menu on Saturdays!

If you'd like some food with your beverage of choice, we've got house baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and sharable lighter, healthy breakfast and lunch options and small plates at night, in addition to our incredible coffee and cocktails all day (full-service starts daily at 5pm).

But we also want to intentionally celebrate the diverse cultures present in our city and bring folks from various backgrounds together. As our mission statement says “good drinks open our minds to new possibilities, spark creativity, and bridge people and cultures.” Our endeavor is to continue in the tradition of the early coffee houses of the Ottoman Empire that were places of socializing, intellectual discourse, and political debate. We’re so glad you’re here with us to celebrate the array of color and culture that is our world. Cheers!

The Mad Priest Coffee & Cocktails

Welcome to The Mad Priest, and to the timeless rituals of communion, revelry, and friendship. We believe that good drinks open our minds to new possibilities, spark creativity, and bridge people and cultures. Our endeavor is to continue in the tradition of the early coffee houses of the Ottoman Empire that were places of socializing, intellectual discourse, political debate, and of course, lots of chess. We’re so glad you’re here with us to celebrate the array of color and culture that is our world. Cheers!
